Spektrum Broad Spectrum Dog Dewormer - 20 Chewable Tablets

Spektrum is a chewable broad spectrum dewormer for dogs and puppies. Each tablet combines three active ingredients, praziquantel, pyrantel pamoate and febantel, which together treat and control the four intestinal worms dogs pick up most often in Nigeria: tapeworm, roundworm, hookworm and whipworm.

The tablets are chewable and flavoured, so most dogs take them straight from your hand. If yours is fussy, break the tablet into a small amount of food. No fasting is needed before dosing.

Choose by your dog's weight

This dewormer comes in two strengths. Pick the one that matches your dog, not the box name:

• Small Dogs & Puppies (1 - 11.5kg) - each tablet contains praziquantel 25mg, pyrantel pamoate 72mg and febantel 75mg. One tablet treats 5kg of body weight.
• Medium Dogs & Puppies (11 - 27kg) - each tablet contains praziquantel 50mg, pyrantel pamoate 144mg and febantel 150mg, double the small strength. One tablet treats 10kg of body weight.

If your dog sits near the top of one range, the larger strength usually means fewer tablets per dose. Both boxes contain 20 chewable tablets, so a single box covers several treatments for one dog or a full round for a small household of dogs.

How to use

For oral administration only. Give the correct number of tablets for your dog's body weight as a single dose, either directly or mixed into a small amount of food. Puppies are usually dewormed every two weeks until twelve weeks of age, then monthly to six months, and every three months as adults. Your vet may set a different schedule for a dog with a known worm burden.

Important

Consult a veterinary surgeon before treating a pregnant or nursing dog, a puppy under 1kg, or any dog that is unwell or on other medication. Keep out of reach of children. Store below 25 degrees Celsius, away from direct sunlight.
